Safe work procedures for visiting Firstchance during COVID-19

As we welcome families back to Firstchance to receive therapy services, we wanted to assure you that we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe and continue to provide essential support services to families during this time.

 Staff Training

All Firstchance staff have completed the Australian Government Department of Health COVID-19 infection control training and are committed undertaking safe work practices to minimise the risk of transmission.

 Our Hygiene Practices

  • All high traffic / high risk areas are cleaned frequently
  • All therapy rooms are thoroughly cleaned at the end of each session
  • Social distancing is in place within the centre where possible
  • Staff will only come to work if they are well
  • Staff frequently wash and sanitise their hands and will do so before and after each session
  • All soft furnishings have been removed from therapy rooms
  • Resources used within a session will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each use
  • Any child, parent/carer who arrives with any symptoms of illness, will be asked to leave

What to expect when you arrive at Firstchance

  • Please stay in your car until 5 minutes prior to the start of your appointment.
  • The front door will be open to minimise the surfaces you need to touch.
  • You will be required to sanitise your hands and your child’s hands as soon as you enter the building
  • Your temperature and your child’s temperature will be taken (using a touchless thermometer)
  • Only one person to accompany a child in session (if this is not possible, please let us know and we will book a bigger room for the session)

What to do if your child or someone in your household is unwell

  • Call us on 0249103130 or email [email protected] to let us know
    • We can always switch to a Firstchance online session
    • Reschedule your appointment where workable

 When to self-Quarantine

  • If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19
