PaL – Parents and Learning Program

Firstchance proudly delivers the PaL (Parents and Learning) program in Karuah, Raymond Terrace and Toronto, supporting Aboriginal children aged 2–5 years through culturally grounded early learning, overseen by Aunty Michelle Perry, Worimi Elder from the Port Stephens area.

PaL is delivered by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal families, creating a warm, community-centred space where families and children can learn, connect and grow together.

About the PaL Program

PaL empowers families as their child’s first and most important teachers. Through fun, play-based activities, the program strengthens:

  • Early literacy and numeracy skills
  • Cultural identity and pride
  • Preschool and school readiness
  • Family connections, sharing and support
  • Confidence for children and parents alike

The program is free, family-led, and draws on the strengths, knowledge and culture of the families involved.
