Family Worker Team Catharina - Family Worker Catharina brings over nine years of experience at Firstchance and a deep commitment to supporting children and their families. In her role as a Family Worker in the Little Ones Playgroup program, she creates a welcoming and inclusive space where families feel heard, supported, and empowered. Catharina’s warm and respectful approach helps build strong relationships, and she works alongside parents to nurture their child’s development through play and connection. Gina - Family Worker With the support of Port Waratah Coal Services funding. Gina is undertaking a 12 month project role to support families who experience multiple barriers to participation. Gina’s role focuses on creating intersectional opportunities for growth and resilience—ensuring families receive the help they need while strengthening the skills of the Firstchance team. Gina is passionate about building strong, connected families and believes in the power of collaboration to help children thrive. Her deep knowledge, compassionate approach, and commitment to inclusion make her a valuable part of our community. Heather - Family Worker Heather is a qualified Social Worker with a Master’s degree and a strong background in supporting children and families. She brings warmth, curiosity, and deep listening to every conversation, creating a safe and trusting space for families. With a collaborative approach, Heather works alongside parents and carers to draw out their strengths and support their goals. She believes families are the experts in their child’s life and values their voice in every decision.
