The Hunter Barbarians is a community Rugby Club with a big heart. Increasing awareness for and supporting those members of our community who need a helping hand.

On the 9-11 July 2019, the club will travel to Coffs Harbour to compete in the Coffs Coast Rugby Challenge. The 10-a-side carnival is for open for boys and girls in Under 10's - Under 15's to play rugby in a great holiday destination. No prior experience required. This is great way for kids to get a taste of the game, make new friends and feel supported to learn the game in a family friendly environment.

The goal of their trip, is not to win the Carnival but to raise funds for a chosen Children’s charity, while enjoying all the game of Rugby has to offer, especially the way it breaks down barriers, and installs in its players the virtues of fair play, teamwork and acceptance.

Since then the Barbarians commenced competing in the competition in 2011 it has grown from strength to strength,  playing numbers have increased, with 227 players pulling on the various and diverse Barbarians strip, but their core values have remained unchanged, kids helping kids and having fun doing it!
Firstchance is very grateful to be the Hunter Barbarians chosen charity for the 2019. We look forward to supporting the teams and wish them the best of luck for a sunny, fun filled weekend that makes lasting memories.
