Support for children

Little Ones Playgroup

The little ones playgroup provides families will a soft place to land. The playgroup is open to families with a child aged 0-3 years and who have concerns about their development.

Sometimes being the parent of a child with a disability particularly a baby aged 0-3 years can be unrelenting and intense. The pressure to learn about a whole new world of your child’s disability, navigate an unknown world of disability supports and services, can be overwhelming.

The Little Ones Playgroup supports families:

  • To develop their relationship between caregivers and their child
  • To have greater understanding of their child's disability and how to access and provide supports to reach milestones
  • Increased parent and family resilience
  • Increased parent confidence in dealing with their child's learning difficulties
  • Increased wellbeing of child and parent and social connectedness
  • with access to information and supports for their little one and themselves.

This group is open to anyone who has concerns about the development of their 0-3 year old. The Little Ones Playgroup runs every Friday during school terms.

Program Overview

SibsRule allows siblings aged 8-12 years to have time dedicated just for them and provides a safe and supported environment to share experiences and strategies with other children. Your child will love to come. The feedback we have is overwhelmingly positive.

This program allows parents/carer to have the opportunity to learn about sibling relationships, family resilience and share knowledge and skills with other families.

SibsRule is delivered as 2 programs in one. You will be broken up into two groups: a parent group; and a sibling group; with some joint group work between throughout.

The program consists of weekly themes. Topics that can be discussed within the group and taken away and shared within the family. Ensuring that the program has meaning to your family unit.

SibsRule will deliver specific content to each group that will provide opportunities for constructive discussions about strategies and concepts with, for and around the family member with a disability and the family unit as a whole.

  • Siblings must have a brother or sister with a diagnosed disability yet not have one themselves.
